SkinMedica’s chemical peels afford multiple glow-getting benefits, including:
If you’ve never had a chemical peel before, you may be an ideal candidate for the Illuminize Peel, the gentlest SkinMedica peel. This peel is appropriate for patients with mild skin imperfections who are looking for brighter, more radiant skin with no downtime.
Vitalize Peel is appropriate for patients with mild to moderate skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and rough texture. Vitalize Peel treatments also address skin unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or other pigmentation changes.
Vitalize Peel can leave a yellowish tinge on the skin, which is expected to last no longer than two to three hours. Mild to moderate redness is expected after any type of chemical peel procedure. The extent of redness varies from patient to patient and completely resolves after the peeling is complete.
Rejuvenize Peel is appropriate for patients with moderate to severe skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and rough texture. Rejuvenize Peel also addresses skin unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or pigmentation changes.
While tingling or burning sensations are normal and expected reactions as the peel is being applied, the Rejuvenize Peel is a well-tolerated treatment. Our team will work with you to help you feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire process.
The complete treatment is expected to take 45 minutes, which includes ample time to address any questions you may have and a discussion on your post-peel care. The actual application procedure is approximately 20 minutes.
Multiple treatments may be required to achieve your desired results. The number of treatments you receive is based on the initial level of skin damage, and can vary from three to six. The effect of the peels is cumulative and results are even better when the peels are used in conjunction with a SkinMedica daily product regimen.
Since new skin is more susceptible to sunburn, extra precautions should be taken to limit sun exposure for at least one week after the peel. Using a broad spectrum sunscreen product with an SPF 30 or higher is recommended.
*Results are not guaranteed and may vary from person to person. Downtime is subjective to individual pain tolerance. Before and after photos are not to be taken as guarantees for expected results.
