After significant weight loss, you may be left with excess or loose skin and fat on your upper or lower body, or both. A body lift in Irvine, California at Jade Phoenix Aesthetic Medicine may be the ideal tool to restore shape and balance to your body.
An upper body lift helps to improve the shape and tone of the arms and chest area. A lower body lift helps to improve the abdomen, buttocks and thighs.
A body lift can help:
Reshape upper, mid or lower body
Reduce excess or loose skin
Deliver tighter, smoother contours
Provide a slimmer, more toned and more youthful appearance
Increase wardrobe options
Improve self confidence
Restore quality of life

By removing excess fat and skin and restoring the shape and tone of the tissue that underpins the remaining fat and skin, a body lift restores a more youthful physique.
A body lift is ideal for anyone who has reached their weight loss goal and wishes to improve the appearance of certain areas of the body by removing excess skin, fat and tissue. This is not a weight loss procedure and should only be undertaken once a stable weight has been achieved, as weight fluctuations can interfere with the results.
A body lift is performed using general anesthesia. The length of your procedure will depend on the scope of your body lift. We will remove excess skin and fat through incisions in the areas being treated. The remaining skin will be lifted to give your body a slimmer, more toned look. We will make every effort to hide or minimize incision scars.
Your treated areas will be bandaged after your procedure and you will have surgical drains placed in your incisions to help remove any excess fluids. You will have to wear a compression garment after your surgery to help reduce swelling and aid healing.
You should arrange to have someone with you once you return home, as you will be very limited in what you can do. You should plan on resting during this time. You should also plan on wearing a loose-fitting, comfortable wardrobe over your compression garments for your recovery period.
Downtime will vary, depending on the scope of the procedure, but it’s a good idea to plan on at least a few weeks of recovery. During this time, you will need to rest. We will discuss your post-operative plan with you before your surgery, so that you will know when it is OK to resume each of your normal activities.
You will experience swelling and pain for about two weeks, but then this should begin to subside. We will provide detailed instructions for your post-operative care, including any pain medications and follow-up visits.
