Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a simple surgery that can rejuvenate your eyelids and reveal vibrant, younger-looking eyes. Whether your goal is aesthetic or functional, eyelid surgery is a popular solution for many.
Upper and lower eyelid lifts can help:
Tighten loose, sagging skin on the eyelid
Improve vision by removing excess skin that folds over the eye
Decrease bags under eyes
Raise drooping lower eyelids
Reduce excess skin and wrinkles of lower eyelid

Depending on your goals, we will perform an upper eyelid lift, lower eyelid lift or both. Eyelid lifts aren’t technically lifts. What they really do is remove excess skin and fat as well as tighten muscle to give the eyes a more vibrant, younger-looking appearance. We will make a delicate incision along the natural crease of the eyelid for upper eyelid lifts, or under your lower eyelashes for lower eyelid lifts. After removing excess skin and fat and repositioning muscle, we will close your incisions with sutures, which are removed within one week.
You will need to have someone drive you home immediately following your eyelid surgery. You should take at least a week off work and avoid vigorous exercise for at least two weeks.
With any surgery, you will experience swelling, bruising and bleeding. These side effects are normal and will resolve on their own within the days and weeks following your surgery. With eyelid lifts, you may also experience dry eye or a sensitivity to light. We will closely monitor your post-operative progress to ensure your recovery is as efficient and comfortable as possible.
It’s impossible to truly determine your best course of treatment until we examine your eyelids during a consultation and learn about your personal goals. Drawing from years of surgical experience, our surgical team considers every aspect of your facial anatomy, not just your eyes, when determining surgical plans. Our board-certified team will work with you to devise the ideal treatments for your needs.
